    • This small and cosy hotel is good value for money and in perfect location for visiting the Citadel. It had everything we needed for a short stay. Comfortable bed, clean room, free water in the room, toiletries, breakfast is simple but ok. We were greeted by an English speaking receptionist upon arrival but the rest of the staff did not speak English, however were all polite and courteous. We had to use Google translate to communicate, but it’s common in Vietnam. It is a nice and quiet area but not nearly enough places to eat nearby, we had to get a taxi for lunch and dinner to go to the other side of the river. There are two flights of stairs to go to our rooms and no lift, no one helps with bags which was ok for us but I imagine not suitable for the elderly. The TV was not working but still possible to watch YouTube. Pay in advance if possible as when you want to pay at the hotel by a card they charge extra 3% for that, which was unexpected. Since the hotel is not expensive all these are minor issues.
    • Friendly staff and great location.
    • Comfy bed and good shower. Friendly staff who always mean well.

    Cons -

    • The whole place could use a good scrub. The tile floors are dingy, and the grout in the shower was black.
    • Staff had VERY limited English even when enquiring about standard hotel requests. The room was musty and had signs of mould on many of the walls (see pictures). These really need a proper clean and a dehumidifier is required as the room itself was very humid. Breakfast options were limited. We were able to leave our luggage during the day at the hotel, but it was not stored in any secure location.
    • Rooms are a bit dated and musty; we left the A/C on "dry" most of the time. There are heavy curtains on the windows facing outdoors and toward the internal courtyard, but inexplicably there is a a separate window in the door, behind which are the hall lights that are on all night, and for which there is no window covering. So, once you turn lights out and close the curtains, you still have light shining straight into the room directly facing one of the beds. Thankfully there were two beds so we slept in the other one and used sleep masks...a very odd design choice.

Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotels we stayed at in Vietnam. When we woke up in the morning, there was a clear ventilation issue—our room was covered in a thin layer of water, and all our clothes had developed a musty smell. When we mentioned it to the staff, there was little to no reaction, which was quite disappointing.Communication with some of the staff was also difficult. We had to ask ourselves for breakfast.Room had a window looking at the reception, not really giving privacy. On a positive note, the shower and breakfast was very good and the location is close to the northern gate of the citadel.

The bed was so confortable and the pillow just the right size, that we finally managed to have a good sleep. Its near the main sightseeing place as well as cosy local food streets. The breakfast included a few options and we choose a pho soup.

Great location inside the Citadel walls; highly recommend staying in the old walls for your stay in Hue. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and the WiFI worked well. Staff was friendly and helpful and they helped us arrange train tickets to our next destination plus a private car to get us to the train station, all of which was handled really efficiently and at a reasonable price. Several choices for breakfast, all of which were good.

I highly recommend Hue 1962 INN! Our stay has been lovely! Our plane had a delay of 6 hours and we arrived at 2am - the hosts waited for us and instantly made us feel at home and have been the kindest hosts for the whole time we spent there. They anticipated our needs and we didn’t have to ask for anything. Our room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I loved the place itself too: cozy, elegant and charming. I wish I could stay longer! Also, the location is perfect for visiting the citadel.

Not a big deal given the high temperatures in Hue, but the shower water was not hot. Maybe the boiler was switched off or wasn't working properly.

Located in a quite street near local coffee shops and restaurants. The room we got was spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The staff is nice. Small hotel with only 8 rooms and various areas for the guests to use. We really enjoyed the stay there and recommend this spot if you are interested to be closer to local shops and the citadel.

Great room in a good location. Very quiet, tucked away in a side street. Comfortable bed and great shower. The staff were really friendly.

The room was really nice. We had a large room with a balcony overlooking the quiet laneway. The staff were friendly and helpful.

There was no breakfast included. I would say this was probably our main difficulty as there was nothing close by either. With 2 small children our mornings were dedicated to trying to find food. There were plenty of amazing coffee shops, but none of them sell food. There were also plenty of street vendors and local eateries but with kids and dietary requirements these were not suitable for us.

The hotel is situated in a quiet street about 500m from the Citadel entrance. The room was very comfortable. The floor did need some cleaning, but otherwise it was a really comfortable and convenient stay. Make sure to try Gin's café around the corner.

Very comfortable room and bed. Extremely clean. The shower was amazing. Nice small balcony. The room and bathroom had all the basic stuff. The house was beautifully decorated and organized. The common area and shared kitchen are nice. The location is great, just a few minutes from the citadel. The owners helped us get back a bathing suit we lost to the wind while drying it in the balcony.

The staff didn't really speak English, although they were helpful and made an effort to communicate when necessary. No offers for tours and tourism services.

The room is nice but the bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly.

They don’t speak English and didn’t let me check in earlier even if the room was ready. They kept telling me to wait another one hour (I thought the room wasn’t ready). when I asked what was happening I was told that I had to pay extra to check-in early- which I would have happily done earlier if she would have told me. (check in is a 14.00).Location is faraway from the restaurants but close to the citadel.A combination of these made my stay uncomfortable for the money I paid (it’s a lot for the country).

The Inn is charming and thought has been put into the interior design. The hosts were super helpful and welcoming even if there was a language barrier.

My only complaint is the non-cotton bed linen which is not the most comfortable to sleep in as it doesn’t allow proper regulation of body temperature.

I highly recommend this hotel. It is small and personable, on a very quiet street (rare in Vietnam). The location is within the old city walls, just outside of the Hue Imperial City. Also, one can also easily walk across the Perfume River to downtown Hue, but the Imperial city is why you're here.

great location to visit the citadelle. solid hotel for 1-2 nights.

the room smelled a bit. no window, only small balcony without seating opportunity. we needed to pay directly after arrival, no onboarding into the hotel or any information or follow up how we like the room.

The accommodation lies in a quiet alley which is a bit narrow for taxi coming to pick up but I love the quietness next to the Citadel. The interior is so wow which is combination of modern bathroom with all retro wooden furniture. The accommodation is cosy but full of light. staff is so friendly and helpful. We ordered breakfast from outside and she provided us all the bowls and chopsticks then made coffee for us as well.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. It is located in a quiet area, away from the busy city centre. But by taxi you can reach the centre in a few minutes. We loved the place.
